01

The build framework

Write the Operator’s job in one sentence: expose targets, hold a lane, heal, finish at range, or break cover. Then test whether every ability and item helps that job. [3][4]

02

Plan the AP sequence

Every Operator normally has three AP. A build should still work when movement consumes part of the budget. Avoid plans that require perfect positioning and every action at once. [3]

03

Useful squad shells

Balanced: control, damage, recovery, flexible slot. Aggressive: two pressure roles, setup, safety. Defensive: long-range damage, Overwatch control, recovery, mobile objective runner. These are frameworks, not fixed best-in-slot lists. [3][4]

04

Bonds are part of a build

Operators sent together can deepen Bonds and unlock combat synergies. Pair characters because their actions and relationship payoff support the mission, without sacrificing basic role coverage. [2]
